Ok, its time for our 1st fall ball team meeting and boy I am ready to unveil my 2009 plans and am I excited. We just came off a fantastic finish to our 2008 season by winning the 2008 USSSA World Series in Maryland....YES Maryland the state Maryland. I am wanting to really shake things up and shoot for the moon in 2009. I want to take our team to ASA 12u "A" Nationals.
Well I announced my thoughts about next season to the group and my wife asked if I was crack? You want to do what she yelled.....you want to go to Panama City and Normal, Ill....where the heck is Normal, Ill...better yet who cares where Normal, Ill is.....normal people don't go to Normal, Ill to play softball after spending a week at Panama City Beach playing softball.....OK you have to know my wife here......she is most definitely the level headed one in our relationship and one to beg to reason. Well she skipped the begging part and made it very clear I had no reason.........so as any loving husband would do I just ignored her and continued to unveil my plan to anyone who would listen.......now when I say I looked around and realized I was talking to myself, literally I felt all alone in my idea and began to think maybe she was right but instead of giving in to my wife's rational and level headed remarks I kept right on talking.
So I guess it sort of goes without saying that before convincing everyone else that ASA Nationals was a good idea for our team a week after USFA World Series in Panama City, FL I first had to get my wife to buy into the idea.......I started thinking that Christmas was going to cost me a fortune this year!
